Decorating your home over the holidays is a fun way to get in the spirit. Christmas is days away, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still decorate a bit for the coming days. New Year’s is right around the corner. If you are hosting a holiday get together, here are a few ideas you can use to decorate your home.
White Christmas Lights Put Off a Glittery Glow
Christmas lights are already hanging around your home. Whether you are getting ready for ringing in the New Year or hosting a party, these lights can be used to your advantage. You can lay a strand of lights out on your serving table or string them around window sills.
Another simple thing to do with lights, is to push the lights into an empty wine bottle or glass bottle. Make sure you push the lights into the bottle neck one light at a time. Set the bottles out on your counters or near a fireplace.
Silver Garland Festive Tabletop Trees
Make a festive tabletop tree out of silver garland. You will need a cone shaped piece of foam. This can be purchased in the craft section. Also, you need wreath pins or staples to keep the garland in place.
Start at the bottom of the tree and pin the end of the garland strand in place. Wrap the garland around the tree until you get to the top. Be sure the foam isn’t poking through from underneath.
Secure the pin at the top. Add silver pom pom balls or any decoration of your choosing. This is a simple centerpiece that will look beautiful past the holiday season.
Frame Christmas Cards
Christmas and holiday cards give you a wealth of decorative possibilities. The glittery wreaths and sparkly words make for wonderful framed pictures. Select a few of the best looking cards to put on display.
These pictures can be set up through your home or hung on the wall. When the holiday is over, you are not left with a lot of decorations to put away. Simple take the cards out of the frames and replace with family pictures.
With these simple ideas, your home will look amazing for your holiday parties and get togethers.
